The early church had been enjoying a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and multitudes were professing their faith in Jesus Christ. Blessings upon blessings and much rejoicing was taking place, and the church was continuing steadfastly in their commitment to Christ. But things soon changed by the time we get to Acts 7 and 8. Persecution came. As the ringleader, Saul wreaked havoc upon the church. But an amazing thing began to happen in the midst of that persecution. As the church was scattered abroad, they went everywhere preaching and proclaiming the Lord Jesus Christ. In that day, persecution sparked evangelism. Something for us to think about…
