In 1Thessalonians Chapter 1, Paul recalls this church’s work of faith, their labor of love, and their patience of hope in the Lord Jesus Christ. He then identifies these brothers and sisters as being among the elect of God, that great multitude of people that no man can number who will be gathered together around the throne of God one day. Paul could make this observation because of their faith, love, and hope. But Paul also identified this church as being evangelistic; even to the point that they were seen as examples to other believers in faraway places. Paul made this observation based on their work, their labor, and their patience. Is our commitment to Christ demonstrated both in our manner of life, as well as in our efforts to share God’s word with others?
