Often the first thing we experience after the Holy Spirit comes into our heart is guilt and fear. One reason the gospel is so needed is it brings us out of that state of fear into faith and trust in Christ. Only through faith in Christ alone can we truly enjoy the salvation God has freely bestowed upon us.
